CARPENTRY TRADES - WALL HANGING SCHEDULE
As we prepare to support the Capitol Square Renovation Project we have experienced a significant increase in the number of requests associated with employee work space relocation such as hanging pictures, repairing damaged furniture, and touching up wall finishes. In order to accommodate these requests and continue to carry out our normal maintenance duties in a timely fashion we have implemented a priority based schedule for routine requests. Tuesday of each week will be dedicated to hanging pictures, marker boards, wall clocks, coat hooks, etc. The Carpentry Trades Manager will schedule these work orders on a first come, first served basis unless customers coordinate their preferred Tuesday work date at least 2 weeks in advance. Exceptions to this schedule will only be considered for special circumstances and must be approved by the Facilities Manager.
"TIME OUT" BOX
The technicians that work in the Facilities Management Section are among the most highly skilled and technically proficient employees in their respective fields. Their dedication to their craft and to serving our customers is what makes our group so successful. Much of their work is done behind the scenes, in mechanical rooms and utility plants, at all hours of the day and night, diligently maintaining the critical infrastructure that keeps our State Buildings operating safely, comfortably, and efficiently. We believe it's important to take "Time Out" to recognize these individuals for outstanding performance, congratulate those who advance their careers, and introduce those who choose to start a career in the General Services Division.
We would like to congratulate Todd McAffee on his promotion to Plumbing Section Supervisor. Todd was chosen to succeed Casey Hibbs in leading this group of skilled and dedicated individuals after Casey's retirement. Todd has been recognized for superior performance many times in his 8 years with GSD Facilities Management and has also been credited with developing an extensive preventive maintenance plan that has significantly reduced the number of plumbing, heating, and cooling system equipment failures in the past 4 years. Todd is an excellent leader and we congratulate him on this well earned promotion.
We would like to welcome several new employees that have joined our team in recent months in order to fill the shoes of tradesmen that have left or retired:
Randy McCormack - Senior HVAC Specialist. Randy has worked locally in the HVAC Trades for over 10 years and brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in current building systems technology. His excellent work ethic and positive attitude has helped him to easily integrate into his position as lead HVAC technician at the Combined Labs Facility with great success.
David Smith - Senior Plumber. David has been a Plumber in the construction industry for over 37 years, progressing through his career from an apprentice to the Laramie Area Manager for a large plumbing contractor. He brings with him an extensive knowledge of mechanical systems and a passion for his trade that will be an excellent addition to the Facilties Mangement team.
