CHEYENNE FRONTIER DAYS


PARADE TRAFFIC AND PARKING

NOTICE: Parade Days start time changes to 9am!

To make it easier for State Employees to get to work on Cheyenne Frontier Days parade days (mornings of July 22 & 24) the following will apply:
  • Central Avenue will be closed at Pershing Boulevard to all southbound traffic at 7:00 a.m. Alternate routes are required.
  • 24th Street will be closed at Central Avenue to all westbound traffic at 7:00 a.m. 
  • Westbound traffic will be restricted on 25th Street from Warren Avenue to Central Avenue. However, State Employees with State ID will be allowed to use 25th Street to access the Herschler Underground parking and the Parking Structure until 8:15 a.m. 
Additionally, the Cheyenne Police Department asks the employees of WYDOT, G&F and the National Guard Armory to consider using alternate routes to avoid Central Avenue from I-25 to 8th Avenue when getting off work in the afternoon during Frontier Days.

Please consider going to work early. There may be some unexpected interference and/or heavy traffic. There will be substantially more restrictions to street parking.

The Capitol Parking Structure will be open to the public for parking for the Saturday parades only. Only state employees will be allowed to use the facility on Tuesday and Thursday, parade days, There will be an employee checking for parking permits at the entrance so please have ID or permits on hand.

CFD CAPITOL HOURS

The Capitol will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on both Saturdays during Frontier Days (July 19th and 26th).

In addition, the Capitol will be open Monday through Friday during normal business hours.

A&I CHEYENNE DAY HOURS

The Governor's office has advised that with agency director approval, A&I may close at noon in observation of Cheyenne Day, Wednesday July 23, 2014. Therefore, we will be closing at noon that day per Director Fausset's approval. Four (4) hours of administrative leave is being granted for this purpose.

CENTRAL MAIL DELIVERY SCHEDULE

Due to Frontier Days Parades and closure of state offices at noon on Cheyenne Day, Central Mail will adjust their schedule as follows:

Tuesday, July 22,2014 (Parade Day):
The Morning mail will be delivered/picked-up for outlying state offices only at the normal time.

The afternoon mail schedule will not change for all state offices.

Wednesday, July 23,2014(Cheyenne Day):
Mail will be delivered/picked-up between 8:00 and 8:30 am. There will be only one delivery/pick-up. Central Mail will accept mail until 11AM for delivery to the U S Post Office.

Thursday, July 24,2014 (Parade Day):
The morning mail will be delivered/picked-up for outlying state offices only at the normal time.

The afternoon mail schedule will not change for all state offices.

NOTE: Business Council and Board of Pharmacy will not be delivered and picked up on Wednesday morning due to all the frontier activities downtown. You will be able to drop off and pickup your mail that day at 706 west 18th street.
